Andrew Joyce is the founder of Into the Book and keeps the site up and running. He is an avid reader and loves to write as well as read new books. He is a part of the Rebelution movement, a teenage rebellion against low expectations

Caleb Joyce has been posting reviews since January of 2009, and is the comment moderator for Into the Book. He likes reading books that have parallels to the Bible. He is excited about recommending good books to others

Jessica Woode has been on Into the Book since December 2009. She has loved reading since age 4, and enjoys mysteries and series of books. Jessica is excited to be recommending edifying and encouraging books.

Kaitlyn E. joined Into the Book in September of 2010 and is a part of the core team. Going from hating reading to loving it, Kaitlyn enjoys reading fantasy and is working on her own Christian Fantasy novel.

Corey P. began reviewing books for Into the Book in July of 2011. Corey is first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ, and this affects everything which he does. His favorite reads are history and Reformed Theology.

Aubrey Hansen first started reviewing for Into the Book in February 2011. She is a prolific author, editor, and screenwriter, and has been heavily inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien. When she's not actually writing novels, stories, or poems, she's talking about writing.

Eustacia Tan joined Into the Book in May of 2011. She has always loved reading, but particularly loves fiction, apologetics, and theology. She has a love for God, and hopes to someday go to the Japanese people as a missionary.

Ashley M. joined Into the Book in May of 2011. She has been reading since age 3, and reads all kinds of things, from Lord of the Rings to Ted Dekker. She also enjoys listening to music and playing piano and guitar.

Grace Pennington is a homeschool graduate, a prolific writer, and the oldest of nine kids. She's partial to Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, Louisa May Alcott, and Daniel Schwabauer, but will consider almost any book. Most of all, she loves Jesus and desires to live her life for Him.

Jasmine R. began reviewing on Into the Book in December 2011. She has been reading since she could walk, and enjoys a variety of different genres. If she isn't reading, she's writing short stories or playing musical instruments.

History of Into the Book

Into the Book is probably not like most blogs you've been on before. With so much trash out on the internet, it's hard to find sites that want to provide quality content. We seek to provide a Christian perspective on books that we read, reviewing them honestly, while still warning you to possible problems in the book.

Into the Book began as a crazy idea about a book reviews blog for teens. There aren't very many book review websites that specifically target teens, recommending good, solid Christian books. When I [Andrew] first had the idea, I didn't even bring it up to anyone because I thought, "Teens? How many teens read books?". But then I remembered Alex and Brett, who are some of the standard-bearers for our generation, and their battle cry, Do Hard Things, and it began to seem maybe doable. I prayed about it and talked to some of my closest friends to see if they'd want to help (Whitney, Caleb, and Matthew).

Well, we ended up starting the blog. Beginning as "Teen Christian Book Reviews" (hosted on Blogger), we soon renamed it to Into the Book, encouraging teens to get into books. It's been a roller coaster year since we've started. We've lost several reviewers, added others to have them back out, and had to go through times when no one would post anything. But now, around one year from when we started, Into the Book is finally starting to see its time of growth.

When Into the Book began, it was run by me and a few of my friends who submitted reviews whenever we could. Now, there are eight reviewers, most of whom have never met each other outside of this blog, or in real life. We have a parent moderator board that moderates all the reviews we post. Beginning with a humble 50 views a month in February of 2009, we have climbed to over 1300 views a month. And when we began, we only had one review when the site first went live; that number has now grown to over one hundred.

Yes, a lot has happened in the past year. We appreciate you reading our reviews and we hope you stick with us in 2010, when hopefully even more exciting things will happen to this website! God bless you all, and keep reading!
